What to Expect During the Process
An oral cancer screening exam is conducted by a dentist who examines the inside of your mouth, feeling around for lumps or abnormalities in the tissue. Additionally, your dentist will check visually for sores or distinct white and red patches. If you wear dentures or other dental gear that can be taken out, you will be asked to do so, so the tissue underneath can be better accessed and examined.
